@VictorVenema very nice post. I agree with you on the fact that we need a global systemic change. I think that should be the priority. Individual initiatives like #flyless should be secondary and not the center of our efforts. But I still think that this kind of small initiatives can trigger discussions than could influence politics.

@steven trying changing your institute/university policy can be really frustrating for some people. The institute where I work sustains that they are paying a fee to compensate for emissions and they refuse to pay train tickets when flying is cheaper, which is usually the case.
