    @hannes Can we, the users, help to save quitter.se? Maybe some more people would make regular monthly donations now. (SEPA bank transfer is free of charge within the EU by law so EU people can even donate small amounts like 3 € per month automatically without any fees.)

    And maybe there are other admins who can help with the technical problems.

    Maybe you actually don't need a hardware upgrade now. Because: quitter.NO has exactly the same issue with "not-responding database server every few minutes". And quitter.no already runs on powerful hardware (SSD disk, 12 GB RAM and the whole database kept in memory) AND has a smaller number of users.

    @knuthollund maybe other !gnusocial admins could check one their instances whether they have those slow queries, too.

    Because I wonder why this seems to affect only quitter.no (apart from also quitter.se which is currently down), _even though_ quitter.no has already such powerful hardware like SSD, 12 GB RAM and the whole database kept in memory. I would expect there are at least some less powerful instances around, but I'm still still havent found other instances affected by this #every-few-minutes-unresponsive-for30-seconds-issue.

    @maya Juas. As an alternative, you can try the direct access here: https://quitter.no/url/1778953
    Although not perfect, if you browse with Firefox and plugins such as NoScript, Privacy Badger and Decentraleyes, and with a permanent private mode, you can bypass most of tracking. That's what I do. There are of course more advanced countermeasures (TOR, avoiding anything that might help to fingerprint your browser, etc.)
    If you don't accept this site's terms, and are consistent with this when you browse the Internet, that can easily prevent you from accessing >95% of Internet, isn't it so?

    Pots comptar que por estos lares deuen estar traficant també amb les dades de localització per estacions base com si no hi hagués demà.
    Les grans telecos (d'infraestrucura per una banda, i de serveis per l'altra) recopilant una quantitat ingent de dades personals, més una deriva cap a la dreta, ultradreta i autoritarisme de moltíssims governs al món, "occident" al capdavant. Què pot anar malament?

    @demoakracia Sí, cierto, era impreciso el titular. Casi que me lo digo a mí: Es importante no dejarse llevar por el cabreo y contrastar antes algo antes de publicarlo (o reenviarlo). Tiendo a contrastar y buscar alguna fuente pero aquí no lo suficiente.

    @dabidnet Le problème est que je n'utilise explicitement aucun de ces services, et pourtant il gardent mes donées et meta-données.
    Les fonts.googeapis, google-analytics, google-videoservices, google-pingback share-buttons qui espionnent... Le réseau invisible et involontaire qui structure la "Web".

    Does anyone know if it is possible to use decently any Android client with Hubzilla? I have tried Twidere, following some instructions (Add a Twitter account, change server to https://[hub URL]/api, change auth method to Basic), but does not work well: it does fetch account name and avatar, but it force-closes the app when trying to refresh home timeline. With Andstatus, I just couldn't add an account for this node (hub.disroot.org)
