Is there a zine that's like, prepping but for collectivists? As in "when the 18-wheelers stop coming, here's what to do." How to grow food in soil you can't test, how to make abandoned buildings livable, how to maintain and create organization with your neighbors, food preservation, medicine, etc

Something you can stash in a drawer for just-in-case, to keep your neighbors alive in case of collapse. I'd definitely buy one

One big thing you can do to help build local resilience and promote an alternative economy is map your city's resources on Shareable

I'm at the point where I'm seeing decentralization and community control of production as less of a means to slowly move away from capitalism, and more of a crucial effort to ensure our communities' survival when capitalism inevitably and imminently collapses

Once you pay attention, you start to notice that once the 18-wheelers stop coming, most of us are fucked. Especially now, when most of our possessions are designed to be ephemeral to force us to regularly replenish them

You can't rely on the internet to always give you that information once you need it. You need not only the knowledge, but the experience to keep things running after our lifelines are cut. We need DIY culture and local infrastructure now

If you’re a liberal, and you canvas or campaign or vote or petition or write your representative and it doesn’t get the laws you want passed passed, you’ve failed, and you may as well have not done those things. But if you’re an anarchist and you host a food share or start a coop or go to a book fair with your comrades, and those things don’t singlehandedly topple capitalism and the state - well, you’ve fed people, given workers control over their work, built up relationships with your community, and had a good time

It’s a process, it’s not an all-at-once breaking but a gradual loosening of the chains, your reach widening and your wrists hurting less and less until one day maybe you can slip your hands out. Or maybe you won’t, but you’ve still gotten freer along the way. Those little victories are important and should be celebrated and cherished. That’s how you stay hopeful and happy as a leftist

The great thing about being an anarchist is I can flat-out say "I'm just an anarchist" to my coworkers during a political discussion and since the term has gotten so watered-down and idiomatic that they all just nod

That's the ONLY part of the song I remember though, and no matter how I constrain my search I always get more results for the Elvis song "Blue Christmas"

"A better world is possible" is such a fantastic slogan. List out the ideals of #anarchism to someone - no war, no prisons, all needs covered in abundance, only voluntary work - and you'll be unlikely to find anyone who doesn't agree that's ideal. Hell, that's what most of our fictional utopias look like

Now, you say, let me tell you how that's possible. With that slogan you immediately get people on the same page, talking strategy. It's such a good summation of anarchism
