Worries about recent health problems and hip pain increasing over the last year has now culminated in urgent ultrasounds, pelvic exams, and other tests. Just what I needed

Coming out of my yard
Kids been playing just fine
Gotta gotta be armed
Because of feral hogs
It started out with a kill
How did it end up like this?
It was only a kill, it was only a kill
Now it's 3 minutes gone
And there's two minutes left
While there's 30 hogs now
And 20 more left
Now they're eating my kids
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
But I'm shooting the hogs now
They can't ban my guns now
Let me go -

@dgold @aurochs Not quite. These are hybrids of pigs and boar, a common thing you find as 'boar' in the meat market. They've got bigger and more boar-like but did start out similar.
Coincidentally they appeared just after new licensing came in for farming boar, a farm in South Wales mysteriously 'lost' their stock at the same time.

@aurochs yeah, some laws about licensing in farming came in and someone dumped their stock here

@aurochs there is little to no culling here either, it's how they got so out of control in 15 years. too many are protesting 'They were here first, this is wrong'

@aurochs I think in not being true wild boar these are not quite so confrontational or prone to incidents of violence but they certainly get provoked. The boom in numbers is alarming though

@GraspingAnts There is no "backbone". Unless a site is directly hosted by endpoint broadband providers servicing homes, offices, or mobile.
The Internet works by routing individual networks (ASes, "autonomous systems") via border gateway protogol (BGP). It relies on major providers advertising and respecting routing advertisements. Null-routing or ignoring advertisements effectively takes a network space offline. That's what's happened to Epik here.

@aurochs there's been dogs attacked here and they come into the housing areas a lot. Not sure of people though. There was a period last year they kept breaking into my garden!
People act like it's always been this way, like they were always here. It's very strange and frustrating!

@aurochs Hunting is perhaps not the right word, they'll come right up onto public areas and not run away, but there's been a lot of shootings and poaching.
There's a lot of animosity towards them, it's largely thought to be related as most are remaining in tact or just having heads removed and displayed.
The forestry or council are meant to remove them but most get left to decompose. -

@ben absolutely. People go after providers when suggesting removing services but I'm not sure many realise just how many companies can be involved and pull the plug.

@sophia this is how the internet should work
if a provider refuses to stop bad acting, they are a bad actor and you go up the chain
