Bob Mottram (bob@social.freedombone.net)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 15:34:59 UTC Bob Mottram Noseying around in the !gnusocial code, probably something like Hubzilla's private messages and privacy groups could be possible with some extra fields. Admittedly, it would be re-inventing the wheel of a sort. -
Bob Mottram (bob@social.freedombone.net)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 15:24:25 UTC Bob Mottram @schestowitz that could be a mistake for him. If he were to turn the election into another brexit vote I expect the establishment would swing to his side and suddenly he would have very friendly reporting from the MSM. The establishment doesn't really want brexit, since it's not in their interests. -

Bob Mottram (bob@social.freedombone.net)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 13:30:49 UTC Bob Mottram @cwebber @dredmorbius @maiyannah it would make a lot of sense if you think about the ergonomics of using a phone. I've tried using NFC yubikeys with phones before, and the user experience completely sucks. -

Bob Mottram (bob@social.freedombone.net)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 10:50:32 UTC Bob Mottram Theresa May calls a general election to be held in June. I wasn't expecting that.
So there is a chance that Corbyn & co might get in. I have my differences with The Corbynator, especially on the snooper's charter, but a government run by him might be marginally less worse.
On the other hand the parliamentary Labour party is populated by Blairites who hate Corbyn and are just waiting for the day that they can depose him without a massive grassroots backlash. If there's a Labour victory then Corbyn might soon be toppled and replaced by a Blair-like figure - perhaps even Blair himself could return (shudders).
One thing which Corbyn should consider is what position he's going to take ob Brexit at the election. If he makes a manifesto statement against Brexit then he could find that a lot of the mainstream media suddenly support him, because the establishment really doesn't want Brexit. -
Bob Mottram (bob@social.freedombone.net)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 10:26:24 UTC Bob Mottram @jookia @hatsuki as silly as it may sound, some people just don't believe in global warming, despite the now enormous amount of evidence. It's not so much about being smart or dumb (though sometimes it is). It all depends upon what narrative frame you're occupying. -
Bob Mottram (bob@social.freedombone.net)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Apr-2017 10:13:50 UTC Bob Mottram @jookia @maiyannah I don't usually have that problem, because I'd make a distinction between people who are merely casual bigots or and people who are educated, armed, semi-organised and ready to start a fight.
