Streaming video is on its way back to the cable era but worse (because you can't reliably trust that some video is going to be available).
Spotify is losing tons of its catalogue, so music is going to a similar thing.
The solution is to buy things as downloadable when possible, e.g. from Bandcamp, and otherwise to, let's say, obtain files in a different way.
Because people are much better at keeping archives available than companies are.
