    So, this /etc/my.cnf is near on empty. No mention of including anything in /etc/my.cnf.d . Obviously, the next thing to do is check to dee if there is anything in /etc/my.cnf.d, but any thoughts on what having near-on zero settings in there might cause?

    If using cookie-based auth in PHP, how does one set a timeout? The cookie-based auth overrides the normal session stuff in /etc/php.ini

    so, postfix seems to be bypassing the config info/the config info is not being read as regards to domain name. Anybody ever seen this?
