Well, it has worked fine 😂 I was afraid of (again) webfinger issues, because in some prior notices @ to you, i had the same behaviour i get when i write to a non-existant account. But it seems the cleaning i was doing yesterday was worth it. Yay!
Besides this, i suspect there's some kind of network connectivity issues. And beyond that, i've discovered something, and all the trouble you're having can be a consequence of it.
To test it, after this notice, i'm sending another one (not in this thread) addressed to you. If i'm right, it won't appear in your "answers". Let's go!
Well, i don't take it personally, my intention was to value GS developers work... But it's ok, i know what you mean and can relate.
About the issue: i've taken a quick peak at logs, and i haven't found anything weird. I can think of two things that could cause timeouts: mariadb backup, that happens at 1:00 daily, and server reboot, that happens at 6:30 on mondays. Both of them take less than 5 minutes. So, if you could tell me, more or less, the times of the failures, i can try and narrow the search for errors. And / or the notices you were trying to respond to.

... or you can tell me the details and i'll try to fix it so it doesn't happen again, neither to you, nor to anyone else.
I get it, it can be frustrating (it is to me sometimes). But remember, with your last report you had three people working to fix the issue, for free, and in their spare time.
