Problem is good coders love to code, but when you turn them into managers they get grumpy because there’s too many meetings and not enough coding. Then just spend all their free time playing an escapist video game like Animal Crossing.

The extra pay is nice, but money isn’t everything. He’s a coder geek at heart management doesn’t scratch that itch.Eventually working for your “dream company”, becomes just another job. Especially since he’s been WFH since March 2020. Silicon Valley is a stupidly expensive place to be working from home.
