    Los pequeños servidores autogestionados que proveen redes sociales libres y federadas, jabber, etc., son la medida justa de lo que deberían significar estos servicios en nuestras vidas, tal como lo es la luz eléctrica y el agua. Estos son servicios todavía más fundamentales que las redes sociales o mensajería, y que nos faltarán algunas veces por año, durante un rato, en algún corte de luz o corte de agua. Es la naturaleza de la vida, no todo es eterno o perfecto. Porque la gente pierde la cabeza cuando Facebook o Whatsapp se cae 15 minutos? Porque todo tiene que ser tan absoluto? Los pequeños servidores autogestionados, son humildes pequeños faros de libertad cuyos usuarios quieren y por los cuales se preocupan. Me parece que algún downtime de vez en cuando pone los pies en la tierra de cuales son las prioridades para las personas. Me parece que una movida interesante, sería inculcar a las personas el valor de estos esfuerzos y mostrar todo el valor y esfuerzo que hay detrás, uno aprende a querer y a respetar el espacio. Con eso aprendemos sobre convivencia y podemos tender una mano, quizá, al admin, si lo necesita en algún momento. En mi corta experiencia de tener un servidor autogestionado que es utilizado por otros usuarios, en numerosas veces he recibido el apoyo y mano tendida de los usuarios que frente a un downtime, hasta me han mandado un mail diciendo “podemos ayudar en algo?”. Me parece que son valores impagables que estas pequeñas comunidades rescatan y mantienen vivos. Por que elegir una multinacional para todo? para mensajear? para poner nuestras fotos y perfil social? Cuando me dicen “pero esos servidores duran un tiempo, luego desaparecen”… y yo pregunto, acaso Facebook va a durar toda la vida? No lo creo… se va a fundir, va a vender todo a otra corporación, y esta va a hacer un refrito con los mismos datos tuyos que van a ser vendidos una y otra vez… Pequeña reflexión sobre los #servidores #autogestionados
