The founder of HTS, Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, was once a participant in the Iraqi insurgency against the US as a member of the group that eventually became Islamic State. In its former incarnation as Jabhat al-Nusra or the Al-Nusra front, HTS later declared allegiance to al-Qaida. It eventually publicly broke those ties in 2016 and rebranded as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, or Organization for the Liberation of the Levant.

Two videos of the people displaced by Turkey's imperialist invasion "jihadist" auxiliaries arriving at al-Tabqa in the autonomous North ans East Syria (NES), which consistently since the start has actively welcomed all refugees from anywhere, not just IDPs (Internally Displaced People).

Several thousands came just recently during Israel's war against the people of Lebanon and now about 200000 new are expected, while NES itself has been under blockades and under attack on all sides for the latest >decade and ICRC, UNHCR, etc failed doing their mandated jobs.

Seen several mobilization statements like this recent days, since the escalated aggression by Erdoğan's imperialist invasion "jihadist" auxiliaries and rebranded regional al-Qaeda began their vastly escalated aggression, from the Revolutionary Youth Movement and the Young Women's Union in various places of the autonomous North and East Syria, but here's one which someone has subtitled:

That's the organization whose flag :flag_rojava: is unofficially used as flag for the autonomous North and East Syria (NES) which was named "Rojava" before it renamed to NES to reflect its diversity when the areas self-liberated through the revolution grew outside the initial Kurd-majority areas.
TEV-DEM is an umbrella organization for the several democratic confederalism parties in the NES.

Deir Ezzor Military Council Statement on Recent Development in Deir Ezzor Region

To our people and public opinion
The developments taking place in our homeland, Syria, pose a threat to the security of our people and our Deir Ezzor region. In particular, Turkish occupation -backed mercenary groups and ISIS mercenaries are reactive in the Deir Ezzor desert. Accordingly, in order to protect our people, our Deir Ezzor Military Council fighters were deployed in the Deir Ezzor city and west of the Euphrates River. Our primary objective is to protect our security and the security of our people. We are committed to fulfilling this historic mission to the fullest extent.
