    @ovruni Por esa misma razón ando más en Parabola que en Debian. Me ahorro la molestia de hacerme hígado por lo mal que gestionan el discernimiento entre lo libre y privativo, y el soporte de software libre es 100% transparente. Lo mismo digo con Trisquel.

    @ovruni Y peor aún, los informes de fallos de Debian con respecto a paquetes de las ramas contrib y non-free suelen tener un tiempo de respuesta muchísimo mayor que los paquetes de la rama main. Eso suele afectar a las empresas que usan distros GNU/Linux dependientes software privativo, haciendo que migre de Debian a Ubuntu sin pensarlo dos veces (además de lo burocrático que resulta el proceso de informe de fallos de Debian).

    En lo personal, pienso que Debian es buena, pero en varias ocasiones resulta ser frustrante hasta en la rama testing para el manejo de paquetes y a la hora de informar fallos (incluso, gNewSense suele ser más transparente con dicho procedimiento a pesar de las complicaciones que tiene a la hora de bifurcar a Debian).

    En fin, espero que gNewSense actualice de versión para recomendarla como alternativa a Trisquel para servidores (BLAG ya está inactivo, y Dragora como que le daré una probada para ver qué tal es).

    @ovruni Eso mismo. Yo uso Debian para estar al tanto de cómo avanza, pero el problema es que las ramas contrib y non-free (es decir, la razón por la cual la FSF no la recomienda) tienen un trato tan desigual que me he topado con la desgracia de enterarme que el la versión binaria del firmware ath9k_htc está mezclada con los blobs perteneciente al WiFi hecho por Atheros (el paquete firmware-atheros es catalogado como non-free, pero incluye las versiones binarias del firmware ath9k_htc, y prácticamente mete en el mismo saco a las tarjetas WiFi como la AR9271 que dependen exclusivamente de drivers libres).

    Eso lo puedo esperar de Fedora, pero de Debian, no.
