One unusual thing Chris Sawyer did with his management games was putting the game in action behind the main menu. I was used to this from action games like Doom, but not this style of game. I'd watch the Transport Tycoon Deluxe demo menu screen, eyeing things I couldn't build.

@dosnostalgic It's such a shame that the StarCraft remaster gave someone strange ideas. I liked that remaster. None of the others have looked very good.

Eric the Unready is silly but fun. I've played a tiny bit of it in the past, but now I'm giving it a proper go.

Look it's goofy dad humour but I grew up loving MAD Magazine, this is my thing.

SimFarm is going well. Have a dancing Cowmen Miranda gif.

My SimFarm is growing nicely, it's up to 16 squares, and I've pretty much remembered all the intricacies of playing this old thing.

@dosnostalgic @emmxyzzy iirc there were some development features that were planned to be added but never ended up happening? I know I was eyeing it off for ages to see where it would end up before I settled for AGS.

@emmxyzzy What a great compilation - so nice to see DOS games that I haven’t played being talked about! I love all the usual classics but I feel like we’ve all discussed those plenty by now. Some of these look really fun. Ducks in particular is interesting to me - it seems to be a kind of tribute/answer to Chickens, but also I notice it’s made by the same guy who made Out of Order which I remember enjoying very much about 20 years ago!

@emmxyzzy Yeah, I remember Sludge seeming really impressive back then - sad that it never really caught on. AGS probably owes a huge amount of its popularity to the strength of its community, which at that time was SUPER vibrant. That and the fact that it’s still being updated to this day (and we still make and release games with it regularly).

Finished Jagged Alliance 2. Still as good as it was back when I first played it. :)

I completed Caesar III this afternoon. Great game, and the Augustus mod makes it even better!

The Augustus mod for Caesar III continues to bring great gaming pleasure to my patches of free time. What a wonderful update this is.

I've had Might & Magic Book 1 sidelined for about 6 months, due to travel and a hectic schedule. But I'm close to finishing, and I want to try. I finally picked it back up again, and completed this map. Feels good to be back. :)

@dosnostalgic Yes, that’s true, it feels like a ‘sequence of scenes’ more than an actual film, somehow. But so fun to see what is done with the camera in it.
