What would be the cleanest way for a Mastodon instance admin to delete a large number of Mastodon accounts that haven't used since April 2017 on their instance?
Presumably this is doable with a SQL query and some Ruby invocations.

I was browsing a Peertube instance earlier and stumbled upon a copy of The Internet's Own Boy, a documentary about Aaron Swartz.
I haven't seen it before so I decided to give it a watch.
By the end of it I was in tears, I don't think I've seen anything in a while that made me cry like that.
Also, I had no idea he co-authored the RSS 1.0 specification, wow.

FOSTA/SESTA hasn't even been passed into law yet and this shit has already started.
Fuck this nonsense, this is going to affect Canadian sex workers as well, it is heavily used here.
If any of y'all have friends on mastodon.cloud, tell them to export any data they can and move to another instance.
mastodon.cloud has been broken (422ing) for more than a week at this point and this is not really the first time the administration of that instance has been negligent (to put it politely).
I really wish the admin would just shut down the instance or hand it over to someone else if they have no interest in maintaining it.
April is coming up so I guess lots of one year birthdays for Mastodon instances are coming up including mine
Even if you have never had a Facebook account directly or used any of their other owned service, some data about you is probably in Facebook's databases by virtue of the people you know who use Facebook and gave them their contact lists.
That is the real power of the network effect, you don't even have to directly give them your data, they can infer it via someone else.
This is the so-called "shadow profile".
Hey everyone:
This week's episode of Two Shades of Brown, @chosafine and I have a 30 minute discussion about Mastodon and federated social networks. Also included is a discussion of Kendrick Lamar's DAMN.
Feel free to gently roast @chosafine on his hot takes.
