Spent some time on solid website. It certainly appears to be compliant with all modern standards.
1. Talks about how important privacy is while using Google Analytics
2. Massive fonts
3. Jackpot scrolling
4. Low information content that leaves the reader guessing what you are talking about.
5. Piling on armies of crappy framework over another until something notably unremarkable is achieved. -

This is exactly the kind of stupid, stupid shit we deal with all the time when people want to virtue signal about supporting disabled people -

This has been the case since iTunes began, also with music, and yet they're pushing it as some sort of new revelation... -

If you want to give money to someone doing the same thing with 100% less bullshit, consider giving to the St. John's Ambulance instead, or - preferably - the foundation for your local hospital, if it has one (most children's hospitals do, for instance) -

This is SOCIAL media, where you go to have a conversation. If you just want to blurt things out without being challenged or discussing them, there's plenty of very easy blog solutions out there.
People want the reach of social media without the consequences of it being social. -

Annah's got the Shotgun (maiyannah@community.highlandarrow.com)'s status on Sunday, 05-Aug-2018 23:18:39 UTC Annah's got the Shotgun Mozilla's new DNS is a MITM attack disguised as a security upgrade.
"What Mozilla effectively does is adding a SPOF for all of their users. But the main problem is not that if cloudflare is down that nobody can surf anymore. No, the real problem is that it fully disables anonymity. Think about a whistleblowler who wants to send information to a newspaper. In the days before Mozilla's change, the DNS resolution was local and could be attacked. However with Mozilla's change, all DNS requests are seen by Cloudflare and in turn also by any government agency that has legal right to request data from Cloudflare.
Let's stop here for the moment and repeat: With Mozilla's change, any (US) government agency can basically trace you down."
https://blog.ungleich.ch/en-us/cms/blog/2018/08/04/mozillas-new-dns-resolution-is-dangerous/
This is assuredly by design. Mozilla is not your friend. -

Annah's got the Shotgun (maiyannah@community.highlandarrow.com)'s status on Monday, 28-May-2018 02:24:48 UTC Annah's got the Shotgun I think it should be exposed by the API what instances and users are blocked on an instance level. There is no good reason not to do so. An individual user has a right to privacy. An instance does not. Any argument that an instance does is obstensibly the same argument that corporations should be "people", which is silly. The network needs to have a clear inter-server graph to be resilient, and the reason that right now it is so deeply fragmented essentially comes down to Mastodon doing as much as they can to obfuscate what is a real networking problem and what is a software problem, right down to literally lying with their HTTP status codes in ways that break the specs. -

Or not having doors because someone can just bash them down anyways. -

Just goes to show how much to those people it's an alliance of convinence, and they'd be going embrace, extend, extinguish just as Microsoft would, given half the chance. -

Annah's got the Shotgun (maiyannah@community.highlandarrow.com)'s status on Friday, 06-Apr-2018 11:56:33 UTC Annah's got the Shotgun If there's anything hacking on postActiv has taught me, it's why the fediverse hasn't moved forward in years. Instead of collaborating, people go off on their own projects that duplicate work and effort for pretty much no gain. It's not surprising: everyone wants to be a chief, no one wants to be an indian, so to speak. I only made postActiv to push GS forward since the issues and PRs weren't getting put in a time fashion, but this isn't the first time someone who has had the same experience has ignored it to go off and do their own thing.
We're just going in circles and circles, all the while wondering why we get nowhere. Hubzilla and Diaspora are the ones actually solving the hard problems of the fediverse, and by and large they've been ignored too. Actually fixing things isn't "sexy" -
