    the client server architecture is one of the main problems in making computing exclusionary and elitist

    People should be able to publish from their devices, from within their homes

    The assumption that you need to go through the mediation of a large organization on order to publish and express yourself is contrary to freedom of speech

    @surveyor

    this is just a small example

    yesterday I ventured to post something with implications to the transgender issue and I was flooded with silly arguments, out of context interjections and a whole lot of general bullshit that lasted a day

    so I experienced the transgender on line experience for a day

    Often people interject having seen only one toot of a chain, tat doesn't help

    Also I can have nee jerk reactions, that doesn't help either

    @arunisaac

    but I won't stop blogging

    I already started a new blog post about this

    It will tae some days because I gave to cllect some sources and citations and I' m a bit lushed, these days

    But I will publish it, sooner or later

    And it will make waves, I think

    I won't be diplomatic this time

    Not only federated services tend to centralization (as in smtp tends to be gmail)

    I have a desktop, a laptop, a mobile phone and a quite powerful adsl

    But it' s more difficult to have home servers. Both because of the money and because of the setup/management

    With p2p services I could use my resources to be nodes in a network

    With federated services it' s not that easy

    In this regard it seems to me that only #GNUNet offers a possible perspective

    #federation

    @jordila

    Be my guest !

    This is the post http://catonano.v22018025836661967.nicesrv.de/the-opening-blog-post.html

    the paragraph "No JavaScript whatsoever. Why ?"

    I don't mention that explicitly but I point to some resources (the GNU guidelines and the Christopher Lemmer Webber post and my own post on the guix mailing list)

    But the reason is that many npm packages cannot be built ffrom source. On npm there's the binary only

    This is for many reasons

    But many of them are not buildable

    About #Slack I want to mention that my favourite Free Software projects, #Guix and #Guile, both use mailing lists and (logged) IRC channels

    I even linked some old email in those mailing lists in my blog

    Also I suggest rreading this document about FLOSS projects using walled gardens comms systems (thank you to @clacke for the link)
