I've seen some people confused, so, basically

Instances that are made specifically for shitposting are, over and over again, proven to be just huge breeding grounds for trolls

And coming from Twitter, like most of us, nobody's here for that, because it creates a toxic environment

I know when I ran my own instance most shipost instances were silenced and blocked because a large majority of them had no moral compass and constantly endorsed fascists

Like for example, I haven't had the chance to speak to Ginny in quite some time, but when I was a part of her instance she spoke about the harassment she receives a lot, and I believe her, I do. I've seen it with my own eyes, I've seen men making snide remarks about her on the FTL for literally no reason other than just being an outspoken woman who needs help

Like, yeah, a lot of people coming here to Masto are genuinely good people, but there are obviously some people coming here who got banned from Twitter for actual good reasons & they're coming here because they think they can get away with bad behavior on a non-corporate piece of social media
