Today, 15th November 2022 around 23:00 CEST we will be migrating nextcloud’s database onto the new server. This means, for the duration of the operation, nextcloud (https://cloud.disroot.org) will be offline. Unlike other services we have migrated in the last days, Nextcloud’s migration might take hours!.
As you know, for the past months, we have been busy with Lacre. Open source, GnuPG based mailbox encryption software. We have now reached milestone allowing us to finally battle test it on Disroot. This is why in the weekend between 4th and 6th of November we will enable Lacre on Disroot mail server for open beta testing for everyone interested. Disnews #6 Well this one has taken on it's own life, run away and barricaded itself in the basement for a while. Using power of persuasion and ton of cake, we did manage to get it out. So here's what's "new": 😋 Roundcube webmail 🤩 Catchall email feature 😎 We have stickers now! 🤔 SearxNG 😝 Xmpp file upload limit
Today (6.09.2022) starting from 21:00 CET we are going to do some maintenance work on disroot. As result there will be short downtimes of following services:
@leodurruti@Parnikkapore ... Reason no.1 why we havent dont anything about it yet as we hoped, it will just go away by itself, but no way. Either we give all info to google and do everything they ask us to do, or we will be marked as essentially fraud.
The issue we have with stupid Google Safe browse is yet another fuckery we need to dela with. Basically all urls like https://cloud.disroot.org/s/sdfhldskfj which are links to public shares on nextlcoud are now considered harmful. Seems like the only way to do anything about is jump through hoop for google this time. We need to create google account, and assign disroot.org to that account to even talk to them. ...
@Steve Unless you setup a reset password either during signup (featured since recently) or via user.disroot.org, you are out of luck i'm afraid (unless you set reset password questions/answers) 😔 We have no way to verify whether you are the legit owner of the account so we cant help to reset it. Password is your responsibility. Hint of a day: use password managers such as keepassx, pass, qtpass or bitwarden. They help a lot with this type of things.
@ajz@badrihippo Ah yes MyPads. We were interested in it while back but there was no LDAP support and so we decided not to implement until it is supported. TBH we haven't check it further for last 2 years or so.
Holly crap! We just saw presentation from @nextcloud on new version of #nextcloud. We're super excited and we'll be testing new release asap. Lots of new features! Thanks for awesome work!
@Steve If you had an error during the process most probably no user has been created!
So you need to start over. This time best to send email to support@disroot.org with more data such as the error code you got, or at least username you are trying to create.
@Steve What error code do you get? Your user is not created unless you finalized the process and got manually approved by the team.
One of the issues might be that you confirmed the verification code on different device then the one you started the process or your IP has changed during the registration process (if you use dynamic IP, some VPN or TOR)
