@jbo right? even beyond the philosophical stuff, none of the required practicalities really makes much sense

The idea that you can live forever by uploading your consciousness to a computer is a peculiar form of narcissism. Even if this were done perfectly as presupposed, the ‘you’ will surely die; at most a copy of you would survive. (thus the peculiarity)
