@noyoushutthefuckupdad @dokidoki In year N people will ask themselves why they should do anything at all IRL when they can do it for free in VR.
In year N+1 the basic income will decrease to the point that nutrient drip and VR is the only affordable life. "Enjoying yourself IRL is a privilege not a right, besides it's environmentally unfriendly"
In year N+2 people will stop talking to each other in favor of talking to simulated people which are more stimulating.
In year N+3 all the commoners are killed of one by one, but as they have no way of communicating with each other they don't realize that it is happening.

@hakui @nepgear @lain @donniethedumbass I can see it already. Facebook will apply a penalty to any post with hate speech so that you have to scroll down for 10minutes to see them in your timeline. And posts supporting Trump will be classified as Hate Speech. Then everyones feed will be 100% pro Zuckerberg, and then people will vote for him because that's what all their friends do.
