Honestly, I feel like it's a downgrade. It feels rushed yet it's taken far too long to release. It no longer provides such an unique user experience, and other distros such as Debian can also provide (at least) the same level of stability and freedom for more unexperienced people.

But hey, at least it made me tempted to rice MATE.

I love how it's one of the very few distros still packed with GIMP out-of-the-box. Really appreciate that... although it's still GIMP 2.8 (when the latest is 2.10 RC2) and Ubuntu 16.04 (and welp, 18.04). Also comes with its own freedom/privacy-oriented Firefox fork.

Gotta say, letting the icons breathe helps a lot. I would still bring back a gradient at the bottom bar and a bit more of color in the menus (instead of just black and white)

...yeah, I definitely prefer how it used to look before - this theme feels more generic, artificial and less polished (no margins... oof...)

(I don't know what happened to the bottom bar lmao)

I remember using Trisquel 7... it was a great meme, pretty clean-looking and stable. That was back in 2014... not even Debian takes this long to release new versions!!!
