@anjum That "on the other hand point" was why I mentioned the "overcoming advantages" thing - you definitely don't want a single tool to be an excuse to get more propiertary garbage. Instead focus on seeing what's the strengths and weakness of each program, pick up the best FOSS one and see how you can make up for its flaws or missing features when compared to the best packages overall.

@anjum lol I see why would you seriously think about it - it can, after all, offer competitive advantages in trade of not-that-much freedom loss. However, considering there's stuff such as GIMP, MyPaint or Krita, that may not be needed at all.

You can still try it out to see what's different and how you can overcome advantages that may be exclusive to CSP, for instance.

@calvin @mike Yeah, definitely consumes more than XMPP for now and thus is harder to self-host... but XMPP is messed up regardless, putting design choices aside it's broken up in too many standards and it's hard to find servers which implement even the most important extensions
