And this was the final archive (~17GB), which I downloaded before deleting my account.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as 2019 is, in fact, GNU/Year.

Just got in my donation to Conservancy. Our donation is much larger than usual in order to reflect the proportionally important role that I think Conservancy is taking in the software freedom space. I hope you might consider donating also! https://sfconservancy.org/supporter/

Happy New Year, fediverse!
Here’s to working towards more freedom, justice, and equality in 2019. It’s not going to get any easier. It’s probably going to get harder. All that matters is we keep chipping away at the problem and working on the solutions. Every little thing we do, whether it’s raising awareness or reducing harm or creating ethical alternatives… it all matters.
Heck, the fact I can write this on the fediverse is reason enough to be hopeful.
Lots of love to you all :indieHeart:

The Free as in Freedom podcast returns after a 15 month hiatus! Your co-presenters, Bkuhn and @o0karen0o (Conservancy's Executive Director and President respectively) kick off the return with discussion of the popularity of "pretend" #FOSS licensing in 2018.

There's a new episode of @librelounge out where we interview Karen Sandler about herself and her work as Software Freedom Conservancy's executive director https://librelounge.org/episodes/episode-5-karen-sandler-and-software-freedom-conservancy.html
Can I also just take a moment to say... WOW! Karen Sandler is our first guest on Libre Lounge! Karen co-hosted Free as in Freedom and that show is an obvious direct inspiration for Libre Lounge; it's *amazing* to me that she's our first guest!
Hope you like the episode! I think it's our best yet!

There are many evangelists for open source but not that many for software freedom. We're now in a time where the software freedom issues are really becoming obvious to the average person although they may not be consciously aware of them and may just think that their software is always bad and trying to trick them in one way or another or is doing things they don't want or havn't consented to. -

https://myaccount.google.com/purchases
If you didn't yet know, Google is datamining GMail etc for purchase confirmation emails amongst other things and aggregating it for their own purposes in an extremely detailed way.
(Everything you purchased with order ids, detailed billing details, VAT, including subscriptions etc)
Do not believe a single word about how this information is kept private. There is zero reason to build a system to aggregate this and then not use it to make money out of.

@albin Well, Stallman, Maciej Cegłowski, later @aral , etc have talked about the concept of a General Data Minimisation Regulation (Aral's term).
I do think we should be campaigning for that. I don't know what else.
