    Oh man, people's conception of minimalism has changed beyond recognition. Just sign in to your wordpress.com account and search for minimalist themes. Or search for minimalist WP themes in general. A vast majority of them look like bloated Facebook-ish garbage. :-/ This wasn't the case 10 years ago.

    We just did the tech check and there were a few issues (now resolved). The engineer at Al Jazeera just told me however that Skype has been banned in Qatar (not a huge surprise) for some time now so they have to do these recordings via VPN from London.

    Yo reconozco haber sido usuario de Facebook por largas temporadas en las que eliminaba la cuenta y volvía tiempo más tarde.

    Entre otras cosas porque si no tienes Facebook, al menos por estos lares, no te enteras de apenas nada de lo que pasa.

    Hoy en día, al menos por aquí, todo va a través de Facebook, todo se anuncia a través de esa red social.

    Este verano pasado fueron las fiestas patronales en mi pueblo, Cedeira. Normalmente cada año repartían unos panfletos con el programa de las mismas. Este año no había nada.

    Al preguntar mi madre el porqué, le dicen que como todo el mundo tiene Facebook les resultaba más económico publicarlo en la página de Facebook del ayuntamiento.

    Y claro, mi madre se enfada ya que mucha gente, sobre todo mayor, no tiene cuenta ahí....y así con todo.

    Pero algo que me hizo abandonar de manera definitiva esa red social fue el hecho de que muchos usuarios, amigos míos de toda la vida, y personas maravillosas, publicaban tonterías (no cabe llamarlas de otra manera) de resultados que les daban webs como nametest, chiquitest y demás jungla acerca de chorradas de como serían si fuesen del otro sexo o a que actor famoso se parecen....chorradas.

    Pero el caso es que esas webs para hacer esos "tests", necesitaban tener acceso a los datos de mis amigos y....a los de sus amigos añadidos.

    Les comento eso, les digo que deberían tener más cuidado, que si quieren dar sus datos, pues problema de ellos, pero que deberían pensarse si están haciendo bien al permitir que esas empresas lleguen a los datos de sus amigos.

    La respuesta que recibo es que me como demasiado el tarro y que solo es por echarse unas bromas.

    Ese comportamiento, muy habitual en Facebbok, es lo que alimenta realmente esa red social, y fue lo que me impulsó a dejarla definitivamente.

    Si a eso le sumas todos las tramas que se van descubriendo sobre como opera la propia Facebook pues....blanco y en botella.

    They also put up stickers in the area with slogans such as "Goodbye Google" and "Google is not a good neighbour".
