One project I'd like to work on, but have no time to get into right now, is spell checking in #GNU. Specifically, in Spanish dictionaries. So many correct words that spell checkers don't recognize...

I forgot to mentioned the specific versions of the clients used in this first try:

And with that I conclude my initial test of #jami.

Being a libre software user for a long time, I feel I'm part of an isolated minority. I don't buy mobile devices, for example, because of the ethical issues.

Even though #jami does not satisfies my requirements right now, I felt exited doing this test because the possibility of communicating with people in the mainstream culture using voice and video seems closer.

So, I really appreciate the work @Jami people have done so far.

Back when the GNU project was starting, among the first things they rewrote as Free Software were:
- text editor / IDE (Emacs)
- assembler, linker, and compiler
- make

IOW, they made tools that they needed to further develop Free Software without relying on proprietary tools.

They wanted their project to be self-hosting.

Nowadays, we have more free software than ever, but we develop it using github and Discord...
