mastodon.social is updated to latest master! New user-facing things:

You can load more search results, you can use "phrase match" in search and exclude words or phrases by prepending a minus; new users see a minimal UI and are able to change their e-mail before confirming e-mail/getting approved; autosuggestions for hashtags show up and show how much each tag has been used in the past week; probably other stuff I forgot

Other: mastodon.social is also now no longer compatible with OStatus

Would it be helpful if before posting a toot you were notified if any of the words you typed were a commonly used hashtag?

@freemo No, followers-only posts are already enforcable. It's a way to make public posts enforcable. And no, signatures are a basic component of ActivityPub, so it's not a break away from standards.

We're phasing OStatus out of Mastodon (we've supported it 2 years longer than we've used it) which removes a lot of cognitive load from further development of features and maintenance #mastodev
