The answer is always "use getrandom()". getrandom() blocks? Your system doesn't have enough entropy to seed the rng. Fix that, don't come up with other ways to make yourself believe you're generating random numbers.

Facebook is terrible, but YouTube is an even greater peril and harder to wrap one's head around.
