Not that I know of, but there was some talk of livestreaming on #PeerTube?

    https://github.com/Chocobozzz/PeerTube/issues/151

@Chocobozzz , is this likely to happen?

By the way, the people doing Cryptpad were asking for feedback on accessible colours if you're interested?

Not sure what to suggest about the app except contacting the developer.

By the way, the website also has a third theme, high contrast. That might help with accessibility too?

I know it's not the "cool" thing to say, but I honestly really like the light theme on the single column interface! :blobpeek:

To me, it just feels calmer with a light background, less "techy" 😌

Mastodon has a dark theme by default, but have you tried the light theme?

It's especially good on the latest update (version 2.9 and above).

    1. Click on Preferences

    2. Click on Appearance (if necessary, not always needed)

    3. Set "Site Theme" to "Mastodon Light"

    4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click "Save changes"

    5. Click "Back to Mastodon"

    And that's it πŸ‘

In the days when Nazis weren't being elected to national parliaments, media used to be almost entirely through newspapers, TV and radio. These were pretty much impossible for Nazis to access.

Nazis were so powerless, that we forgot how their powers actually worked.

Their popularity is based on a strong emotional message: kill the others to protect your own.

Rational debates just don't do anything to stop animalistic urges.

That kind of "sunlight" wishful thinking is, to coin a phrase, absolute crap.

They coordinate quietly in private, propagandise in public. Criticism has zero effect.

The more mainstream airtime Nazis get, the more people start to see their ideas as normal.

It's a process called the "overton window", and neo-Nazis aim right now is to shift the window towards the murdery end of the spectrum:

I don't think that kind of block is technically possible on a decentralised system with libre software, so it's a distraction to even be discussing it.

As I said earlier in this thread, we have to do whatever *is* possible to stop Gab, i.e. blocking at instance level, and app level if possible.

And just to repeat, this is not about "not liking" someone. This is about silencing people who are promoting mass murder.

"It doesn't matter what platform they say it on."

Actually it matters hugely. The more visible a platform is to non-Nazis, the more potential they have to recruit new members.

They know this, that's *exactly* why they try to get onto mainstream platforms instead of staying in their isolated echo chambers.

This is also why they are so keen on "freedom of speech", because they really mean freedom to recruit new members.

    FFS... (facepalm)

THIS IS NOT ABOUT BANNING PEOPLE WE DISLIKE.

The reason to ban Nazis is because NAZIS PROMOTE MURDER AND GENOCIDE.

Sorry for the caps but this is really driving me mad that people don't get this.

Stopping mass murder is something more important than software architecture.

Nazis butcher people, including neo-Nazis from Gab:

It would be great if mutual dialogue worked on Nazis, but it doesn't, at all.

Nazi groups use whatever platforms they are given to spread their seductive but twisted propaganda, and soon there are even more deluded Nazis to deal with.

Nazis see any appeasement as weakness to be exploited, because in their world everything is about power. All that makes them happy is power, that's their only real principle.

Last week, Mastodon adopted a beginner-friendly default interface πŸ‘

So, maybe this would be a good time to spread the word about Mastodon to a wider audience?

If you're on Facebook/Twitter, you could do a little post about Masto with a link to https://joinmastodon.org ? And a link to a good instance running 2.9 or above?

(Also, I think some people were doing Mastodon posters?)

If people hear about Mastodon from many different sources, they are more likely to try it.
