It federates through ActivityPub with Mastodon etc and it also lets you follow RSS feeds as if they were users.

I tried to contact Purism several times about this issue before removing their listing, but they didn't reply.
I can only assume that they either didn't fully understand the responsibilities of running their own social media instance, or simply don't care about the consequences of allowing racial hatred, misogyny, homophobia etc to be spread through their service.
Allowing hate speech is not promoting tolerance, it's destroying tolerance.

This ESR guy is vile... he has it in for every vulnerable group: ethnic minorities, women, LGBT etc π He even denies climate change.

@switchingsocial / anybody else: know of a good alternative to Pocket? I want to save links to read later, maybe organize them, and sync those between devices.
Bookmarks are clunky, and syncing them requires online services usually.
Ideally this would work with an add-on, so adding things to the collection would be easy.

While the state of mobile apps for Mastodon has been good for quite some time now Iβm happy to see some new desktop (web) apps.
So far Iβve tried Sengi and Mastonaut. @sengi_app is a web or Electron app (for all platforms) which reminds me a lot of Tweetdeck. @mastonaut is a native, βMac-likeβ and elegant Mac app.
Both support multiple accounts, both can be used with one or multiple columns and both are surprisingly mature and stable for being relatively new.

Even if someone isn't convinced, it puts alternatives on their radar, and the more people that mention it to them the more likely they are to try it out.
Sooner or later someone else may mention it as well, and and perhaps a third too. At that point, most people would be curious to at least find out more.
