    What I want: a desk with an integrated USB hub, that I can directly plug stuff into.

    Why it would never work: I'd have to get a new tabletop every other year when they update the standard 🫣

      @fribbledom with at least USB-A, USB-C, mini-USB, and micro-USB ports, that you could switch and replace in any order. 🤔

      @fribbledom You need a modular screw-in system so that when the standard is inevitably updated, you only have a hole in your table for around two minutes while you replace the old one with the new one.

      @fribbledom Get a desk with a suitably sized recess and put a hub in there? Or one with small slots for the sockets and duck-tape a hub under the desk and run cables to the slots.

      @fribbledom Protip-1: 19" studio desk
      They have 19" racks built in for music gear that happen to be 100% compatible with computer/network rack gear.

      Protip-2: Keystone jacks
      Modular jacks for patch panels. rj-45, usb, audio, video, etc.
