   So over on birbsite Scott Miller (of Apogee and 3D Realms) posted a legal letter sent to him from Core/Eidos for a Lara Croft easter egg in a 1997 first person shooter of questionable taste, Shadow Warrior. He said "the dev studio--sent us a legal letter we claimed parody protection and they backed off." (1/2)

     (2/2) BUT I'm not entirely sure that's the actual story.
     (Lara's original appearance in the shareware version of the game was quite a bit more tasteless.)
     Eidos became the publisher of the game in Europe. Lara's appearance was changed in the final version of the game in all regions to resemble the official one, and Core were given credit in the game. 🤷♂️

     @leilei Oh yeah, Joe Siegler only followed me for a very brief period of time. From what I'm seeing on Twitter Joe isn't on best of terms with Scott anymore either.

     I got one strike with apogee-era Siegler. Welcome to the club!!!

     (but now I wonder if that's a Miller through Siegler).

     also that hard work on the 3d model for the tasteless lara got recycled to make the kunoichi (my speculation)

     @dosnostalgic I did this once! I answered a question about a former id legend’s career not knowing he had since mythologized himself somewhat differently… and that he was in the same ex-Origin employee Facebook group.
