   @arclight I try to stay away from shitting on submodules, and settled: for every use case of submodules, I found a different way I was more comfortable with.

     If you are using git submodules for code you distribute outside your organization, you need to reevaluate your life choices.

     git is not a dependency management system.

     Consider having that tattooed on the inside of your eyelids.
