@dmbaturin @galaxis Well, they certainly reduced glare. But as far as their anti-radiation and anti-UV claims, I have my doubts.

@galaxis @dosnostalgic Did those things actually work? I thought they were just snake oil.

@dosnostalgic I just never cleaned my monitors instead, using the resulting dust layer as anti-glare.

      Ohhh it's an anti-*glare* filter.

My first PC had one of those, complete with grounding clip.

Anyone else used to believe it was against the CRT's radioactivity?

@chovekoid That's what it was. The first one only lists glare, but many (like the other one I included) listed static, UV, and radiation protection.

You're right, I didn't see it right there on the 2nd pic 🤦♂️ Is there any truth to these claims?

@chovekoid I have no idea, but probably not. I mean, it's a sheet of glass, so that's an additional layer between you and the CRT gun, so there's that I guess. 🤷♂️

I think there's, like, leaded glass that absorbs radiation more? But yeah... kinda doubt these filters would be made of that 🤷♂️
