      Only what you see on the photo. A few minor strings, comparable to what I also get on an MK3S with this (fairly old) filament.

      I hear some people have issues with stringing though.

      @fribbledom Beautiful. May I ask, does it need the brim? It looks like it would have enough contact with the bed plate even without it.

      I run a MK3S, and won't be planning on upgrading to a MK4 for at least another year. I'm curious to watch the developments in the newer models.

      @GamesMissed

      It starts out with four fairly small islands (the frog's feet), but no, it probably doesn't need a brim. I just didn't want to risk anything, with this being my first print on a brand new self-assembled build.

      I was more interested in the tool changing than the bed adhesion in this test. So far first layers are just beautiful tho.

      Yeah, I saw his video. A bit odd really. The latest slicer and firmware apparently help a great deal, but who knows, it could also have been a misaligned build or a defective part.

      My experience with this kit & machine has been super impressive so far.

      @fribbledom "Teaching Tech" seemed to have an absolute string monster on his hands which is what prompted me to ask.

      Great time to be getting a new machine -- seems like everyone selling filament has some black friday discounts happening. Nothing like a new printer to burn the filament supply down.

      @fribbledom I built my MK3 from a kit in 2017, and added the "S" upgrades later on, and it's been a pretty solid workhorse. The only thing I need to keep an eye on is Z-height and the first layer adhesion, because that shifts ever so slightly with the change in seasons, and I need to spend 20 minutes or so re-calibrating it two or three times a year.

      I'm assuming you're a beta tester on the XL? Please post more about it, if you're able and so inclined.
