   Do I know anyone on #Friendica?

   Any instance recommendations?

   Is there anything I should know about finding an instance to try out?

     @dynamic nope they are optional extension or modules that admins choose to activate. Some can cause a lot of traffic, or others can be abused by spam bots, etc. So in my case I specifically looked for RSS enabled. But it is something to just compare between instances.

     @dynamic yes thing is Mastodon is only short text and readers have to click on my website link to read the fuller comments etc. Following my Friendica feed is the full text. Friendica also has integrations outside of just ActivityPub.

     But I did videos about each platform, so used them extensively for research. I auto post though from my WP blog to all networks.

     On instances, see what they enable or not eg. RSS posting, space limits, etc.

     Not all Friendica instances allow RSS posting? Do they all allow RSS reading?

     I'd kind of assumed that all instances would have the same things enabled.

     Cool. Any words of wisdom on selecting an instance?

     I'd also be curious to know your reasons for maintaining both Mastodon and Friendica accounts. I.e., what does Mastodon have going for it that Friendica doesn't? Or is it more a case of just maintaining separate instance identities as many do with different Mastodon instances?
