   @mmn @rysiek I don't know what happened to Ello, and don't especially care since it's proprietary. It was flavor of the month for a brief time, and many people said they hated the UI. Things which don't federate or which aren't P2P won't scale and you just end up with the same problems as the existing silos.

     @rysiek @mmn scaling is easier with p2p than with client/server. So it would be possible to imagine an IPFS version of gnusocial which just stores posts within some directories which other users could then subscribe to. Something like that would be a lot more scalable, particularly for popular feeds.
