gnu/social groups are close to what you'd need for a reddit-type interaction model. the only problem with the #gs implementation is that they aren't distributed so the group is really a kind of virtual user/repeater thing on a given instance. for example

would be !scheme@quitter.se
i think you address them like that, been a sec since i used #gs. you might just have to join and have it resolve when you submit.
