@skynebula @adfeno @GeoffreyDorne I don't think that's a good idea since web based stuff sometimes are made to work only with non-free #JavaScript (or the not-correctly-marked as free/libre per #LibreJS tests), combine this with auto execution and #Spectre and #Meltdown and you have the perfect "take this stuff and run it without questioning/changing otherwise you cannot easily use our services" scenario. APIs won't make it different since the owner can change it.

With web and "APIs" the website owner can change stuff and users won't even know who/why/how and what to do with their clients (web or not).
