nil@mattskala To me, the only issue with gender- or racebending fictional characters is: Is it really that difficult to create original ones? Also: People demanding authors to cater to their wishes for representation instead of being creative themselves. Also also: People not understanding how inclusive some characters/franchises have always been (v.gr., X-Men or Star Trek, among many others). Also also also: People being ignorant to the power of metaphor in storytelling.
