I don't think the subtle "feeling" can be scientifically validated, except in extreme cases such comic sans or decorative fonts. Or, it's trivial. such as serif vs sans, and say variations of Times Roman. And to me, the human expression part, must come from writing. In a sense, this is some kinda purist perspective.

I mean, serif, sans, and some variant, and sometimes specially designed decorative fonts, that's good enough. But that's not you or typical typographer lovers say. They say, there's emotion, feelings, etc. lol in that case, hair color, style, how one holds a pen, comportment, grammar nazi... endless trivia all become critical. :D
