    @mattskala hey matthew. i had a voice chat with fredrick brennan, and i mentioned that one time i mentioned him and you recognized. and Brennan gave a laugh and said you two were just chatting or debating about font stuff the other day. 😊just saying, dont be surprised i didnt mention, if down the road.

      @mattskala i don't get why are people into font?
      so font forge is a app to create font, so the users are even less i suppose. Why are you into font? for the beauty of design?

      @mattskala haha, about your reasons for font, that's precisely why i'm opposed to font. I don't think the subtle "feeling" can be scientifically validated, except in extreme cases such comic sans or decorative fonts. Or, it's trivial. such as serif vs sans, and say variations of Times Roman. And to me, the human expression part, must come from writing. In a sense, this is some kinda purist perspective.

      @mattskala font tech, such as metafont, seems a interesting study by itself. i never studied much. :)

      @mattskala that's true. but i find the typical font lover's reason is just overbloat. I mean, serif, sans, and some variant, and sometimes specially designed decorative fonts, that's good enough. But that's not you or typical typographer lovers say. They say, there's emotion, feelings, etc. lol in that case, hair color, style, how one holds a pen, comportment, grammar nazi... endless trivia all become critical. :D
