One reason i hate Thunderbird: I never get spam filtering working, so everytime i open it, i have 200 mails marked as junk but have to delete them.
My spam sieve for MacOS works like a charm compared... :(

@douginamug its the one thing i cant get out off. Dont want to switch to working on a microsoft mail programm, and Thunderbird works mostly as predicted. But with the "business mail adresses" i am flooded with spam (like 800 a day?) and i can only do something on the client side about it.
And i do not have a mac everywhere i go or want to. So its still thunderbird and a spam-filter solution which does not work greatly...

@wion hm, back in 2009 i've got a spam sieve licence i carry around for mac, since then spam is not a problem for me with mail.app.
because i work within a few organisations, i cant do all mail within one provider, so filtering is on the client side mostly.
      And for that, thunderbird sucks...
