The F36 package is now available:
      https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-78a5cbdceb

I'll keep using the RpmFusion package, of course, but I'm glad that several popular apps can now be packaged directly in Fedora, including all Electron apps.

      #fedora #ffmpeg #rpmfusion

@penguin42 Isn't the RpmFusion version good enough for you? They released ffmpeg 5 a couple of weeks ago and - after I complained that several popular apps were now broken - they added a compat-ffmpeg4 package.

@codewiz On Fedora I just give up and build ffmpeg from source; my ffmpeg has loads of stuff in it.

@freakazoid But there are two Electron apps that I use every day: Signal Desktop and VSCode.

@codewiz I fail to see how installing Electron apps is ever a good thing.

@codewiz I use Signal Desktop, too, but a real IDE ;-)

@be I still use the RpmFusion package, but I'm sure the Fedora version strips all patent-encumbered codecs. All patents on MP3 should have expired long ago, not sure about AAC.

@codewiz Does this include MP3 and AAC decoding?

@codewiz @be It does. We have mp3 and aac through libraries linked into ffmpeg.
