@yesbait @pamela I think you are right about the limits; but mostly, centralisation only makes sense if you wanna have profit from it.
I'm not saying that comparing the #fediverse and twitter is unfair; I think it is meaningless. Different goals, different ways of doing things.
I can understand the desire to welcome new people (I do have the desire too), but we can't turn this into the places people are running from.
So, whoever comes and stays, that's fine. Whoever comes and don't enjoy it, well, sorry, but that's what you get.
I'm more interested it atrackting diverse people, collectives, etc with a desire to build something new, than to create an "alternative twitter", whatever that is.
