Same feeling. According to my teen self, though, I would say Beatles to a lot of genres I love, and Hendrix and especially Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd to psychedelia, which may be my pinnacle of music loving. After that came a huge lot of other things. Still exploring...

Before that I was really into AC/DC but I distinctly remember the world premier of One on MTV in 1989. It was an event and I made sure I was in front of the TV at the appropriate time. Kill em All was the first album I ever bought with my own money quickly followed by Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. I love the Black album and everything before it.
What band got you into your fav genre?
