@fribbledom i only write software in TikZ. *rubs lumberjack beard*
Heh, yeah, what about it? 😆
@fribbledom what about LISP?
Easy: 👻
@fribbledom describe it in emojis.
@fribbledom it's written in fox pro
@fribbledom you forgot Tcl/Tk
The one env var you're referring to is called GOPATH, and it's been deprecated since 2018 or so.
git clone
go build
Job done.
@fribbledom compiling software written in Go: oh no, i need to re-read the docs about weird environment variables for the 1000th time. (Gosrc or godir or whatever this was called)
Not sure I'd consider that a bad habit. It's a good idea to play and experiment with a bunch of languages to broaden your horizon. It's also fine to eventually stick with the ones you enjoy the most 😊
Go is fairly easy to learn, so yeah, give it a shot. Play with concurrency, interfaces & composition and see if you enjoy that.
@fribbledom I've noticed you're a big fan of Go (am I right!?). I'm toying with the idea of learning it, but I have a bad habit of picking up new langs at a shallow level and never really getting deep into them, so I'm resisting this idea at the moment...! Work is all C#, so am trying to be disciplined and 'get good' at that. Not quite as interesting/fun/exciting as Rust though!
While I'm sure I've used a Kotlin app before, I don't think I've ever "deployed" one... as such I have no emoji for that one, yet 😆
@fribbledom What about Kotlin? 😉
@fribbledom
Almost same, but go is of course in the 😠section.
Of course 😂
Oh, yeah. I mean, I have in the past, but pretty much anything Windows based goes into a separate emoji group: 🚮
Yep, you can!
@fribbledom so i can now clone the code anywhere i want? *cries with joy*
