   A Saints Row reboot? Jeez, now video games end up in the same dire situation as movies... everything becomes a spin-off, sequel, - or worse - a remake.

   I can already hear them cry five years from now: "why is nobody buying our games anymore?!"

     @fribbledom its okay and sometimes pretty cool (tomb raider, modern warfare) to have a reboot, but this reboot just looks ass.

     @fribbledom Well, these reboots are more like modern reimaginations, and they tend to turn out pretty good. See Doom (2016) – different, but also likable. And Tomb Raider 2015-or-whenever-that-was. Or XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
     
     Except Saints was modern in the first place and apparently didn't turn out that well :P

     @fribbledom to be fair, I'm pretty sure Volition are still limited in what they can do due to THQ going bankrupt years ago and taking Volition's royalties with them. They've been repeatedly banging out games derived from from Saints Row for a few years now just to pay the bills, and to be fair to them it looks like they've put a lot of effort into this one. I hope it does well enough for them to survive and make original games again because when they are on form they produce some real gems.
