@jerry
Science changes all the time, so saying someone is "skeptik" is actually a good thing. It is sane to keep in mind we're learning and evolving to avoid becoming a science fascist 😉😂. Science is our best way to acces knowledge, and it's good to keep in mind we humans are discovering new things every day...

Jerry Bell (jerry@infosec.exchange)'s status on Sunday, 28-Aug-2022 16:38:33 UTC Jerry Bell Interesting study that finds people who oppose scientific consensus are generally less knowledgeable on a given topic, and apparently unaware of their ignorance, and overconfident in themselves. It’s basically quantifying the Dunning-Kruger phenomenon in novel ways.
I personally believe there is a common misunderstanding of the scientific method, what theories are, and what “research” is.
Of late, it seems like there’s also a concerted political movement that makes going against scientific consensus something of a defining characteristic of a party, at least in the US.
Hopefully some day we can get to a point where science isn’t partisan.
