   So as we are now on Mastodon, I wanted to do things properly and add a "Share on Mastodon" link on news articles (which is a bit harder than with centralized networks as people need to specify their instance).
   Screencast below is how it looks right now (on testing website only for now).

     @GIMP Please use the correct wording: You are not "on Mastodon" - you are in #Fediverse now on a instance which is using Mastodon software. "The mastodon" doesn't exist - the decentralised network is called #Fediverse.

     Well. While the same /share route is supported by some Pleroma front-ends (at least Soapbox, where I implemented it), I don't think it's supported by pleroma-fe, not sure about Misskey and others. So it would be confusing to label the button as *Share in the Fediverse* as it won't work with some of them. It's not a part of any Fediverse-related spec.

     A feature that allows you to pre-fill post compose box by navigating to a route like /share?text=Lorem+Ipsum

     @mkljczk So I don't understand why this share should go only to Mastodon and not to #Fediverse. Why should Mastdon be the only platform which should be supported? Of course Mastodon is only one of the possible implementations - besides #Pleroma, #Misskey, #Friendica, #Hubzilla where the common communication system is #ActivityPub - so why not support this protocol? @GIMP

     This feature is simply not related to federation at all. Some implementations might not even have a similar feature.

     Labeling stuff that’s only tested with Mastodon as Share in the Fediverse would do quite the opposite of what you’re saying. It would imply that Mastodon is the only valid implementation. The only one worth caring about.
