@tagomago But I'm telling you, in each case I've heard vinyl rips, I've gone to Discogs to see if any of it is particularly rare.
Usually, it's not rare. Here's an example of one I heard a few days ago. I can buy near mint copies right now for cheap.

  The Highwaymen - Homecoming! Recorded Live at Wesleyan University (1964) Genre: Folk Rating: ★★★☆☆ First, this is NOT the country supergroup comprising of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson. Rather, it's the collegiate folk group that had a #1 hit with "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore". And this is a live album. Neat -- but it's a terrible vinyl rip, and whoever uploaded it didn't even get the cover art right. What a sad state of affairs regarding a good album!
