    Esta noche empieza. Estamos mejorando nuestra infraestructura. ¡En serio!

    Vamos a desplegar un nuevo servidor de base de datos y actualizar la capacidad de almacenamiento de archivos.

    Esperamos poder hacer todo eso a la vez, con un tiempo de inactividad mínimo posible. Sin embargo, la plataforma de #disroot puede estar offline por unas pocas horas.

    💾 Server upgrade 💾

    Tonight we are planning long awaited infrastructure upgrade on #disroot.

    We are going to deploy new database server as well as upgrade file storage capacity.

    We hope to be able to do all that at once, with minimal downtime possible. However disroot platform might be offline for even few hours.

    If you see stuff being down, dont panic, keep your fingers crossed, drink a cup of hot coffee for us, have a good sleep or get some fresh air.

    @zagur @nobody @martaggcom efectivamente, los dos son descentralizados, federados y libres. Nada que objetar en eso.

    Matrix es como una re-escritura de !xmpp desde cero, desligándose para bien y para mal de éste.

    Apenas lo he probado en el webchat de #disroot. Agradecería opiniones de diferencias que veáis mejores quienes conozcáis las dos plataformas.

    Our server is struggling the last days with the load. We do plan in coming two weeks to add additional server that will be handling database operations, however we need to find a temporary solution to the problem asap.

    Therefor we need to juggle a bit the resources we currently have to maintain operations at the same time prevent downtimes, and performance issues.

    Problems with matrix federation

    Today we’re experiencing federation issues between #matrix.org server and #disroot. At this moment we are trying to contact matrix.org administrator to confirm our suspicions of possible cause.

    Currently messages from matrix.org arrive with up to 10 min lag.

    # Disroot Performance issue
    Due to what we believe unintentional abuse of cloud service from one of the users, our server was brought to it's knees. We have identified the issue and applied a fix. However it will take some good few hours for everything to calm down and get back to normal.

    Unexpected Server reboot

    Most probably due to issue caused by out of memory scenario on one of the virtual containers, our main server has restarted, which caused a downtime of about 15 min. (booting the server, restarting all containers etc).

    We will keep an eye on this as it might indicate hardware failure.

    @platano Eso no es nada, yo una vez intenté ingresar a una cuenta de gmail a través de Tor y no sólo no me permitió entrar (nunca le interesó saber si era yo o no), sino que además tuve que ingresar después fuera de Tor y me obligó a cambiar la contraseña...
    Obviamente jamás me pasó eso con #openmailbox y #disroot.

    Due to maintenance work on the Rack in the dataCenter where our servers are located, Disroot will be down for approximately 30 min.
    This is totally not dependent on us, as the work done by DataCenter staff requires the power to be off in the entire rack.

    We hope this will be a smooth operation and we'll be back online in no time!

    Claro, menciono a #disroot como ejemplo de lo que vos podrías hacer en tus propios servidores, a saber: montar un servicio de #nextcloud (almacenamiento, calendario), montar una instancia #matrix o #xmpp (mensajería), montar una instancia #kanbas o cualquier otro modelo de gestión de proyectos. Lo único que te limita es que vas a necesitar una aplicación cliente para cada cosa. /to @sergio /cc @xikufrancesc y !otros
